My Top Ten Polishes of 2013

Happy new year! Well almost. My parents are out while me and my brother are... home. We are going to eat cheesecake and have a Walking Dead marathon. It honestly sounds pretty good to me.

As you probably have seen, I changed a lot about the blog. The name, the url, a lot of the social media sites, and I added a "my book reviews" and "makeup". Why you may say? Well books are my second love. I was thinking about making a book blog on top of this one, but then I figured I would just have one blog for both. So not much will change besides I will review a palette or two from time to time and I will have book reviews. If your not a book lover or not a polish lover, that is perfectly fine. Just skip the posts you don't interest you!

To ring in 2013, I have my top 10 polishes of 2013. I honestly thought that 2013 was a GREAT year for nail polish! Lets hope that 2014 is even better! Here are my 10 favorites polishes of 2013 (that I own). There is no order.

Essie Butler Please Swatches

Hey guys! How has your weekend been? Mine was great! I went and visited some family in Wisconsin! I had a blast.

Today I have swatches of Essie's Butler Please. All I can say is thank you Kohl's! They send out a $10 gift every month or so and I always use it to get some Essie! I really love this color. This polish is from Essie's 2012 Winter Collection! It is a really pretty purplish blue that dries matte. I was kind of surprised when I saw that it was heading to the matte direction, but it was a good surprise. Here are the swatches:

Essie A Cut Above & Stroke Of Brilliance

Hey, I'm back! Sorry for such a long wait. It has been 4 days since I posted anything! I have had a ton of school work stuff to do. I have been taking a ton of pictures for the swatches page. I still have to update it though. I'm thinking about starting up a nail art challenge! I haven't been doing much nail art lately, so what better way then a challenge, right?

I went and got two Essie polishes today at Kohls. Together they were only $6.44! I had a 10 dollar off card that I got in the mail. Every time I get one, I always go for the Essie Polishes. This time I got A Cut Above and Stroke Of Brilliance. They are both glitters and they are both a lot alike! They both have some bigger and smaller hexagonal glitters.

A Cut Above:

A Cut Above is a clear top coat with some pink hexagons both big and small. I picked this one up because I truly have nothing like it. It is really pretty. The formula is great and there is tons of glitter too. This is 2 coats over NYC's Fuchsia Shock Creme!

Brand: Essie
Name: A Cut Above
Finish: Glitter

Stroke of Brilliance:

Stroke Of Brilliance is a clear top coat with blue hexagonal glitters, ranging form big to small. So like I said earlier, Stroke of Brilliance is exactly like A Cut Above, except for color. That is literally the only difference I see. The formula is great and there is lots of glitter. This is 2 coats of Wet n Wild's I Need A Refresh-Mint.

September Favorites

Hey! Today was not fun for me. I had a dentist appoitment and a ton of school work to do. I hate the dentist. I know, everybody does. But I just really do. I just had a cleaning but I have to go back in a month for a filling. School has just been pulling me from all ends. It's pretty stressful stuff.

Enough with my personal life! My September favorites are all nail polishes! I didn't buy any makeup this month because my eyes have been blood shot all month. From being in the hospital. So I haven't really been feeling the need to make myself pretty! These are 5 of my favorite polishes from September!

Essie For The Twill Of It

Hey there! I am SUPER EXCITED to show you guys For The Twill Of It by Essie. This polish is stunning. It took so many pictures. I took them both inside under direct light and outside. The outside pictures are much better because the sun reflects off the polish and shows the green and purple.

Oh, i'm so excited I forget to tell you guys about the storm we had today. Our power was out for like 5 hours. There was a lot of rain and winds, but I still had to take a test right threw it. I also had to clean up outside because things were flying right and left. So now that I told you about the storm, here are some pictures of Essie's For The Twill Of It.
