Fiery Dry Marble

Hey guys! Have you heard of Robin Moses? Because if you haven't, where have you been? She is a pretty famous (and super talented) nail art vlogger on youtube! I learned how to dry marble from her videos. This is actually my first attempt at it and I love it already. I have already done another design since I made these a few days ago.

For this design I used a nail art brush with Zoya Dhara, Sally Girl OMG, Nicole by OPI Hit The Lights, Nina Ultra Pro Orange Flame, Sally Girl Cool, and Revlon Diva. Then I added Essie Good to Go as a top coat.

Dangerous Creatures Book Review

Title: Dangerous Creatures
Author(s): Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
Series: Dangerous Creatures #1
Rating: 3/5 Stars
Bookshelves on Goodreads: books-i-own, damaged-guys, have-high-hopes-for, look-at-that-cover-i-want-to-vomit, meh, read, romance, witches-and-fairies

“Ridley Duchannes. Is there even one stupid tiny little part of you that loves one stupid tiny little part of me?”

Dangerous Creatures is the start of a spin off series of Beautiful Creatures. I loved Beautiful Creatures and gave every book 5/5 stars. I even like the crappy movie that every one hates. So you can see that I really wanted to like Dangerous Creatures and I tried, I really did. I'm not saying that it was horrible because it wasn't, it was just so boring. It did finally start to pick up about 3/4 of the way through. I would have given the book a 2/5 if it wasn't for the decent ending. But Dangerous Creatures just left me wanting more.

Dangerous Creatures is about Ridley Duchannes (a dark siren caster that is always up to no good) and Wesley Lincoln (Link) (a hybrid incubus who plays music, even if he sucks at it). To fully understand this book, I think you would have to read the Beautiful Creatures series first, which gives you a run down on casters and such. But you can read this without spoiling too much of the Beautiful Creatures series. So Ridley and Link graduate and go to New York. They both have their own reasons, Link wants to get into the music business and Ridley has a debt to pay. So they end up dorming with a caster band and getting themselves into trouble.

My main problem with this book was that it just didn't keep my interest until the end. It moved at a slow pace and had little to no action till the end. It also pissed me off because Ridley treats Link like crap for most of the book. I like them as a couple but really? She has an awesome sweet guy, and she lies to him and pushes him around. It also made me mad because no one like even gave Ridley a chance to be good. Its a sterotype, that all Sirens are bad, so everyone in the band is mean to her. No wonder why she doesn't like them.

If you read the Beautiful Creatures series and are wondering if you should bother to read this, you should. I feel like my mildly negative review might just be my opinion.

Sally Beauty Supply Neon Haul + Swatches

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you are all having a great day. I got paid today, and you know what that means. Nail polish haul! The haul I'm going to show you today is actually from a few weeks ago. It is just too many hauls to keep up with! All of these neons were bought at a different time, but I'm just putting them all together. I hope you all like them as much as I do!

China Glaze Pool Party:

Pool Party is a neon coral creme polish. This was love at first sight. I instantly put it in my cart, seriously I didn't even care what the price was. This color is just so beautiful. The formula was okay, like most neon formulas. It is less orange in real life, versus my pictures. Shown is three coats without top coat.

Sally Girl OMG:

OMG is a neon bubble gum pink creme polish. I'm normally not a huge pink fan but this is a perfect color. The formula was great, as it always is with Sally Girl polishes, which is surpising because they are only a dollar a piece. Shown is two coats without top coat.

Sally Girl Cool:

Cool is a dark purplish pink creme polish. I really like this neon as well. Its not very original but I didn't have anything like it. The formula was perfect as always. Shown is two coats without top coat.

Sally Girl Peace:

Peace is a neon green creme polish. This is the ideal perfect bright neon green that I love so much. The formula was great (I don't even need to say that anymore with Sally Girl, its like a given.) Shown is two coats without top coat.

Some Many Books to Review, So Little Space

I'm so bad at reviewing books in a proper time. Like really it is awful. I have 8 to review dating back to March, so I'm just going to do two group review things. So today I have Panic by Lauren Oliver, Hold Still by Nina LaCour, The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, and If I Stay by Gayle Forman. I am going to shorten them a little bit, just for space and time.

 Title: Panic
Author: Lauren Oliver
Series: NA
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Bookshelves on Goodreads: contemporary, middle-of-nowhere, look-at-that-cover-I-want-to-vomit, read, romance, have-high-hopes-for, pissed-me-off

"There was always a way up, and out, and no need to be afraid.”

Panic is a game that seniors in Carp play because they have nothing better too do. Carp is one of those in the middle of nowhere kind of places. They have a gas station, a convience store, and that's about it. So back to Panic, its a game that graduating seniors play the summer after they graduate. Money is donated through out the year and put into a pot. Then the winner wins all at the end of Panic.

Our main characters (and POVS) are Heather and Dodge. Heather never wanted to play Panic but after her boyfriend of a few years brakes up with her, she changes her mind. She has one sister and a no good mother who drinks, smokes, and curses way too much. So Heather is kind of like a motherly figure for her sister. Dodge has always wanted to play Panic. He wants to play for revenge. Along the way, he learns that everyone has a reason to play Panic, and everyone is as fueled as him.

I liked this book a lot. I loved reading about the challenges and seeing how the characters reacted them. I also liked seeing the characters rise up to personal problems, outside of Panic. But I didn't really like feel much for the characters. I liked them but I was never attached. I also hated Nat (Heather's best friend) so much. Lauren Oliver's writing was as beautiful as ever. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Title: Hold Still
Author: Nina LaCour
Series: NA
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Bookshelves on Goodreads: books-i-own, love-the-cover, mental-illnesses, my-emotions-i-cannot, read, romance

“The sun stopped shining for me is all. The whole story is: I am sad. I am sad all the time and the sadness is so heavy that I can't get away from it. Not ever.”

This book was amazing, depressing, and completely personalized. By personalized I mean that, I understand what this person was going through by losing a best friend. I haven't lost a best friend really, but many aunts, uncles, and all of my grandparents. But saying that, this book nailed the feeling of grief. It went through all of the stages and was completlely correct.

So as you might have guessed, this book is out a girl named Caitlyn, and how she loses her best friend to suicide. The book is mostly about her struggle to get back to a normal life, after so much trama. So while I liked it, it was enough to give it 5 stars. It did come close though.

Title: The Scorch Trials
Author: James Dashner
Series: Maze Runner #2
Previous Series Reviews: Maze Runner
Rating: 5/5 Stars

“No. I kind of accepted it, in a way. That saving you was worth losing what we might've had.”

(Spoilers if you haven't read the Maze Runner)
This sequel to the Maze Runner was amazing and confusing. If you read my review of the Maze Runner, you will know that it was just super confusing and that is why I docked off a star from that review. While The Scorch Trials was confusing, it was not nearly as confusing as the Maze Runner. The Scorch Trials leaves you with a lot of emotions, questions, and feels. I felt for all of the characters and got mad at Wicked for their way of treating the boys.

The Scorch Trials picks up right after the Maze Runner. They thought that they were going to be saved from Wicked, but instead they were just lead into another trap. The maze was just the start, know they have to go unto trial two, The Scorch Trials. They have to walk across the scorch (where the sun's rays have mad it as hot as hades, and dangerous) and make it to a safe point, to prove themselves to Wicked.

In the Scorch Trials I learned to love the boys and feel for them. I also learned that in this dystopian world, no one is who they say they are. The Scorch Trials took my breath away.

 Title: If I Stay
Author: Gayle Forman
Series: If I Stay #1
Rating: 5/5 Stars
Bookshelves on Goodreads: blood-everywhere, book-boyfriends, books-i-own, favorite-series, favorites, have-high-hopes-for, my-emotions-i-cannot, read, romance, serious-illnesses

"Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you."

If I Stay is a contender for my favorite book, ever. It was just so perfect, breathtaking, and beautiful. I seriously can't find my words to how perfect this book truly is. Like I read this about a month ago, but I still can't find my words. If you haven't read this, do it. I don't care who you are, you will love it.

Mia has a great life, a great family, a great boyfriend, talent, everything. She doesn't realize that she can lose it because of one driver on the road. Her family gets into a car crash and her mom and dad die instantly. Mia and her younger brother Teddy are barely holding on to their lives. Mia finds herself outside of her body, looking at herself in the hospital and looking her family and Adam. It is her choice, if she stays or goes. She has to make the choice to live or die.

One of the main reasons why I loved this book so much is Adam (Mia's boyfriend). God, he is just so perfect. Then when he finds out about the car crash, he is hystrical and runs into the hospital. I just find that so freaking adorable. I also loved Mia's character and basically everyone else. This book shows people what loss truly is. If I Stay is heart wrenching, beautiful, and tragic. Its a book that I will never forget.

Church Garage Sale Nail Polish Haul + Swatches

Hey everyone! So about a month ago my church had a garage sale and they had some nail polish! So I bough it all. Yeah, that sounds bad of me, but guess what. THEY WERE ONLY A PENNY A PIECE. Yeah that's right, 1 cent a piece. So I payed 6 cents for 6 different nail polishes including OPI. I have a lot of pictures, so I'm just going to get right too it!

O.P.I. Jade is the New Black:

Jade is the New Black is a teal creme polish. This polish is perfect in every sense of the matter. The formula is perfect. It's almost a one coater. And the color is beautiful! I have two coats without top coat on in the pictures below.

Ulta Love Fern:

Love Fern has a clear base with a variety of teal glitter. This shade isn't really unique but I do like it. Its not like anything I would constantly wear though. Here is one coat over OPI Jade is the New Black.

Ulta No Name 1:

This polish has a black creme base with small and large blue glitters. While I hate the fact that this doesn't have a name, I am in love with this shade. It is literally so perfect in every way. Here is two coats without top coat.

Ulta No Name 2:

This polish is a textured black with small orange flakes. I don't know what it is about this polish, but I hate it. The formula is awful and it just looks really gross. Here is two coats without top coat.

Ulta No Name 3:

This polish is a glitter topper with gold and other colored flacks. I feel pretty meh about this polish. Its not bad or good, its just meh. Here is one coat over Essie Tart Deco.

Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac:

Lacey Lilac is a light purple lilac creme. I really like this color, its so girly and perfect. I also think that it compliments my skin tone rather well. Here is two coats without top coat.

City of Heavenly Fire Book Review

 Title: City of Heavenly Fire
 Author: Cassandra Clare
 Series: Mortal Instruments #6
 Rating: 5/5 Stars
 Bookshelves on Goodreads: have-high-hopes-for, books-i-own, favorites, book-boyfriends, blood-everywhere, damaged-guys, angels, werewolves, romance, my-emotions-i-cannot, vampires, love-the-cover, witches-and-fairies

“Freely we serve
Because we freely love, as in our will
To love or not; in this we stand or fall.”

(slight spoilers if you haven't read the rest of the series)
There is no amount of words that can sum up my feels right now. It's so bitter sweet because I LOVED this but the SERIES IS OVER! The Mortal Instruments is so far my third favorite series of all time behind VA and Bloodlines. Saying this, COHF was also my favorite book of the series. It had so much action, romance, funny moments, drama, and tears. It took me two weeks to read, just because it was so overwhelming to read.

COHF starts right after COLS ends. Sebastian stars to turn more shadow hunters into dark shadow hunters, in his persuit to rule the world. And the Clave isn't doing shit about it. Jace gets it.

"The Clave has a collective intelligence of a pineapple."

So shadow hunters are made to come to Alicante to prepare for war. When a great betrayal takes place against the Clave, Clary and her friends take it into their hands to stop the destruction of the world.

Can we just take about how far Clary has come? She has always been a brave character but in COHF she showed a huge amount of strength. She was taking the shots and even got her own sword. May I just say that she was BA.

“There are a hundred trillion cells in the human body, and every single one of the cells of my body loves you. We shed cells, and grow new ones, and my new cells love you more than the old ones, which is why I love you more every day than I did the day before. It’s science. And when I die and they burn my body and I become ashes that mix with the air, and part of the ground and the trees and the stars, everyone who breathes that air or sees the flowers that grow out of the ground or looks up at the stars will remember you and love you, because I love you that much.”

Clary and Jace's relationship got deeper and deeper. They are just so damn cute together. (Even though Jace is MINE, back off Clary)The rest of the relationships were adorable as well (Simon & Isabelle and Magnus & Alec)

I think that the best part of this book was that it was so fucking funny. Proof:

“I did not make a pie,” Alec repeated, gesturing expressively with one hand, “for three reasons. One, because I do not have any pie ingredients. Two, because I don’t actually
know how to make a pie.”
He paused, clearly waiting.
Removing his sword and leaning it against the cave wall, Jace said warily, “And three?”
“Because I am not your bitch,” Alec said, clearly pleased with himself.”

oh and..

“I think they’ll probably put that on my gravestone. ‘He Was Heterosexual and Had Low Expectations." Jace said.

And we can't forget this..

“You're pining," said Jace.
Alec shrugged. "Look who's talking. 'oh I love her. Oh, she's my sister. Oh why, why, why—”

This was the perfect end to a brilliant series. I am sad to see the end of it, but look forward to more of Cassandra Clare's books.

I'm Back, Here's Some Nail Art!

Hello everyone! I am soo sooo sorry guys! I have been so busy with work that I haven't had any time to blog! I hope that it will slow down now after training though. Then I had to switch computers and export and import all my blog stuff, so that took a while. But I'm back with some nail art today!

I did this design a while back so I remember nothing about why I did it, or inspiration. But I still like it and thought I would post it today!

For this design I used China Glaze Celtic Sun as the yellow neon base. Then added NYC Disco Inferno and a star from Star Crossed Lovers by Fingr's. For the gradient I used OPI Jade is the New Black and China Glaze Celtic Sun. Then I added the white with NYC French White Tip. Then I finished it off with Essie Good to Go.
