Supernatural (The TV Show) Inspired Nail Art

Supernatural is the main reason that I haven't been blogging as much as usual. I feel in love with that show and have been watching it all the time. Like really, its a problem, I don't do anything else. So I thought I would show you guys some love for Supernatural with nail art! But first here is a summary:

Supernatural is about two brothers, Dean and Sam Winchester. Their mother died when they were young and a demon killed her. Their dad, John, became obsessed with hunting monsters like demons, vampires, werewolves, and all sorts of killers. Then it became a family tradition and the brothers start hunting as well. There is also romantic/lusty relationships, physic powers, other hunters, and Bobby.

I used OPI You're So Vain-illa for my base. My thumb is inspired by a Angel Banishing Symbol and I used NYC Black Velvet and China Glaze So Blue Without You. My pointer is inspired by Dean's car and they are his license plate numbers, I used NYC Black Velvet. For my middle finger I did a galaxy with way to many polishes to name. For my ring finger I drew a pentagram with NYC Black Velvet and outlined it with Sinful Colors San Fransisco. My pinkie finger is a gun drawn with NYC Black Velvet. I topped it all of with Essie Good to Go.

Bookshelf Tour 2014 Part 2

I'm sorry guys! I haven't had internet for the past five days, and isn't coming back until Friday. So I am at the library, because I absolutely needed to blog. So I was looking through my blog folder on my computer and realized that I haven't done the second half of my bookshelf tour. I did the first half back in May. So my book shelf has changed a little bit since then. I got more books like the 5th Wave, Throne of Glass, Delirium, Dangerous Creatures, and lots more. So maybe I'll show you guys an updated version later in the year. I'll probably have a new bookshelf by then because I have no more space left, at all on my bookshelf. I have kind of just been stacking them on top of each other and its time for an upgrade!

In the first half of the bookshelf tour, I showed you the top two shelves of my bookshelf. So today I have the last too. If you want more info on my bookshelf, you can check out my first post here.

Row 3:

The horizontal stack of randoms: These are all of the books that I couldn't find a home for. Out of these I have only read A Walk to Remember. I read this a while ago but I remember it perfectly. It is so beautiful and depressing, and weirdly enough the only book I read from Nicholas Sparks.

The Luxe: I haven't read this one and don't really know when I will. I wasn't planing on reading it but I got it for two dollars so I guess I have to know.

A Great and Terrible Beauty: I was reading this when I took these pics, so you can see some of my old bookmark. This book started out pretty cheesy but it ended really great. It is historical fiction, which I don't read much of, but I was surprised by how much I liked it.

Hush, Hush: I read Hush, Hush a while ago but unlike a lot of people, I liked it. Maybe I'm just a sucker for bad boys.

The Book Thief: God, the Book Thief was perfection. It was one of those books that pissed me off so much, WW2 stuff tends to do that. But the main character was just so lovable and her parents where perfection. I loved hearing about them fighting back.

The Vampire Diaries: TVD is one of my guilty pleasures. It is so cheesy but I love them so much. I watch the show and have read all of the books. I just love the world that L.J. Smith has created.

Row 4:

The Red Pyramid: I haven't read this but I will in the future because RICK RIORDAN.

The Heroes of Olympus series: Perfection. That is all I need to say.

Percy Jackson series: I don't care if this is middle grade, I love the Percy Jackson series. I also really really need better copies of it.

Vampire Kisses series: I haven't read them but got them for a really deal.

The Chicago Land Vampires: Same deal as Vampire Kisses.

Blue Bloods: Get the pattern yet?

Here is an adorable stuffed animal I got from my friend when I was in the hospital.

I hope you guys enjoyed this bookshelf tour! I would love to see yours if you would leave a link in the comments!

Nailing The Book: Vampire Academy Nail Art

Hey guys! Today I have some Vampire Academy nail art for you! I'm actually really surprised that I haven't done any before, because come on its like my favorite series ever. If you want to learn more about Vampire Academy click here. They also just made a great movie for Vampire Academy, so check that out as well.

So you have to know a little bit about the VA world to understand this nail art. Its about vampires in high school (if you haven't guessed), but its not the normal cheesy vampire border school romance novel, I promise. So there are three times of vampires. The dhampirs are half vampire, half human and they protect the moroi, the full vampires, from the strigoi, the evil vampires. So the dhampirs got special tattoos to show how many kills they have, etc.. I have some of those tattoos on my nail art.

For this nail art I used a free hand brush, top coat, base coat, acetone, and a clean up brush. The polishes I used are Revlon Diva and NYC Black Velvet. I topped it off with Essie Good to Go.

Hex Hall Series Book Review

Title: Hex Hall, Demonglass, and Spell Bound
Author: Rachel Hawkins
Series: Hex Hall
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Bookshelves on Goodreads: have-high-hopes-for, love-the-cover, read, romance, so-incredibly-cheesy, vampires, werewolves, witches-and-fairies

“'Let's just say you may regret that second piece of cake.'
Oh my God. Regret cake? Whatever was about to happen must be truly evil.”

Hex Hall is about a witch named Sophie Mercer. She does a love spell on one of her classmates and gets sent to Hex Hall, a school for refuge students who risk getting found out. But once she arrives at Hex Hall, she knows it will be trouble. On her first day she already she three enemies, a crush on a boy, a vampire best friend, and she gets attacked by a werewolf. As her school year progresses, she learns that she is much more powerful than other witches. She gets intertwined in plenty of teenage mishappenings.

So I really did enjoy this whole series. I was a little worried about the whole border school thing. I mean I bet we can all admit that supernatural bordering schools have been pretty overdone. Yes, Hex Hall was predictable and nothing that you should take seriously, but it was fun. I laughed a lot and loved the main character, because she is so sarcastic and strong. I liked her best friend Jenna as well and felt bad for her.

The three popular beautiful witches that hate her thing was really predictable. I still hated them, like I do every time. Her crush Archer was dating the queen of the three, of course. The whole series (espically Hex Hall) was just so predictable and that is why I docked a star, and it was super cheesy. But overall I really liked the Hex Hall series. I basically marathoned this series, so that is saying something. I would recommend this series to people who don't mind a little cheesiness and like supernatural sarcastic characters.

Fandom Cosmetics Nephilim Collection Swatches

Today I am going to fan girl all over this blog. Why is that? Well I finally got my bottles of the Fandom Cosmetics Nephilim collection! The Nephilim collection is inspired by the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (aka one of my favorite book series ever). You can my reviewes on my Book Reviews tab. It consists of 4 glitters with clear bases.

I'm just going to take about the formulas here instead of individually, because they are basically all the same. The amount of glitter in these are perfect. I had to use two or one coats to get the desired effect. They were pretty thick though, so I would go with thinner coats if I was you. All of the glitter pieces were perfect and great. Overall I am really impressed!

Now lets get to the good part!

Adamas from the Iron Sisters:

Adamas from the Iron Sisters is a clear glitter topper with medium sized black, silver, copper, and blue glitters. Adamas is a type of metal that shadowhunters use for their steles. The Iron Sisters are a group of shadowhunters who make their weapons and steles. So I personally really like the color combo in this polish. I do think that it could use a little something else, because they are all the same shape and size. I used 2 coats over NYC Skyline Blue.

Morningstar:

Morningstar is a clear glitter topper with red, green, and silver medium sized glitter. Clary's last name is Morgenstern and that means Morningstar. So this polish is inspired by Clary. I really adore this polish but like Adamas from the Iron Sisters, I believe that it is a little boring. Just like one more shape or sized glitter would make it perfect. I used two coats over Essie Turquoise & Caicos.

To Love is to Destroy:

To Love is to Destroy is a clear based glitter topper with super small blue glitter, medium sized black, gold, & holographic silver glitter. In The City of Bones, Jace tells us a story about his dad and how he taught that to love is to destroy. So then Jace grows a colder heart and protects himself from pain. “The boy never cried again, and he never forgot what he'd learned: that to love is to destroy, and that to be loved is to be the one destroyed.” So this polish is inspired by Jace. This is my second favorite, it is just so perfect and makes me fangirl like crazy every time I wear it. I used one coat over NYC Black Velvet.

My Magificent Self:

My Magificent Self is a clear glitter topper with hexagonal gold glitter, spherical green glitter, and black diamond glitter. Well hello beautiful. This has got to be one of my top favorite polishes, ever. Not only is it beautiful, but it is inspired by Magnus! Magnus is an amazing gay warlock that ends up developing a relationship with the gang, specifically Alec. I love Magnus' character so much, as I know that almost everyone who has read this series does. The polish fits his fabulous personality perfectly. I used two coats over a no name Ulta polish.

How perfect are these!? Let me know which ones are your favorites in the comments!
