Birthday Haul: Part 4 Sally Beauty Supply & Target

Hey guys! Today has been.... interesting. Friday the 13th came to bit me in the ass. I almost cut my finger, slammed my same finger in a door, and almost started a fire in my house. I left the microwave on for 40 minutes with pasta in it. Yeah, thats one of those moments where you kinda want to just go back to bed.

I have the last of the birthday haul swatches for you today! I got Seche Vite Top Coat, a clean up brush, OPI Nail Envy, Sally Girl Brainy, and Cover Girl Rogue Red.

Seche Vite Thoughts:

I was expecting A LOT more from this top coat. Its not bad but from hearing all about how great it is and how everyone uses it, it surprised me. Yes, it dried super fast. Like probably in a minute or two. My nails felt really smooth and slick with it. I'm just sad because it pulls the nail polish up from the tips of my nails. Other people probably can't see it, but I can and it annoys the crap out of me. I'm not really sure if I will buy it again or not.

OPI Nail Envy:

I have heard so much about Nail Envy. People basically bow down to this product and now I understand. My nails have always be very prone to breakage and stains. It seems like every time I get my nails to the right size, they break. It has made me mad for a while, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend $16 on this stuff. So when I got a Sally Beauty Supply gift card for my birthday, I jumped at the chance.

This stuff is amazing. I have been wearing it as a base coat for about a week now and holy crap. My nails already look a lot better. I will have pictures of before and after next week! I jammed my nails into my desk on day 3. I could have been sure that at least one nail would break, but they didn't! I'm super happy with this! Here are my before pics and a pic of about a week in!

Before

As you can see, my nails look REALLY BAD. I had stains every where and they are mostly gone now. My nails are a lot stronger and never break. Its only been a week!

See! Its already been a week and you can totally see the difference. Plus my nails have been growing like crazy. I had to file them twice this week.

Sally Girl Brainy:

Brainy is a glitter with small teal glitter and bigger blue glitters. It is basically a complete dupe of Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream. It has a lot of problems though. I thought you could maybe wear this one alone, but you can't I tried up to 5 coats then just ended up putting it over Essie Turquoise & Caicos. It is still super pretty. Here is 2 coats over Essie Turquoise & Caicos.

Cover Girl Rouge Red:

Rouge Red is part of the Catching Fire collection and is a shimmery red orange. It is sooo beautiful. This polish probably makes my top ten for this year. I love it, it looks so much like fire. The formula is great too and goes on in two coats. Here is two coats with top coat.

So that is it for my birthday haul! I got close to twenty polishes! I'm really happy with most of them. What do you think of these? Were you disappointed in Seche Vite too? Let me know in the comments!

Birthday Haul: Part 3 Sally Hansen Sugar Coat Swatches

Hello again! Oddly enough the Sally Hansen Sugar Coat collection has 8 polishes (not including the new ones) and I only have 6. Same thing happened to me with their magnetic polishes. I don't have Bubble Gum Pink or Razzle Berry.

Cherry Drop:

Cotton Candies:

Sweetie:

Sugar Fix:

Sour Apple:

Lick-O-Rich:

My thoughts:

These are the first textured polishes that I have bought, so I don't have much to compare them to. But I do really like them. They had great formulas and went on in two coats. I really like the bottles on these. I just think that they are super cute and original! My favorites are Sugar Fix, Sweetie, and Cotton Candies!

What do you think? Which ones are your favorites? Let me know in the comments and have a great day!

Birthday Haul: Part 2 Sally Hansen Magnetic Polish Collection Swatches

Hey guys! Today is going to be a busy blogging day for me! I have three posts to finish because today I am starting my 12 days of Christmas tutorials! It going to be a series of 12 days leading up to Christmas. In every day I will have a new Christmas tutorial and on Christmas I will pick my ten favorites for Christmas manicure!

Starting out with my birthday haul part 2, I have 6 out of the 8 magnetic polishes from Sally Hansen! I got these all at Big Lots for a dollar but no matter how hard I looked I couldn't find Golden Conduct or Red-y-Response. I'll keep looking though!

Kinetic Copper:

Electric Emerald:

Ionic Indigo:

Polar Purple:

Silver Elements:

Graphite Gravity:

My thoughts:

I really like these. They all are very simple to use, almost idiot proof. All you need to do is paint one coat, let it dry, then paint another coat and put the magnet (at the top of the bottle) over the nail for 10 seconds and your done! I like all of these colors but my favorites are Kinetic Copper and Ionic Indigo! You can get these basically anywhere but I have seen them at Big Lots, Target, Walmart, and online.

So what do you think? Which ones are your favorites?

Birthday Haul: Part 1 Sally Hansen Odds and Ends

Hey guys! Sorry, it has been a bit since my last post. I have been super busy swatching all of my 20 polishes that I got for my birthday haul! It was a lot of work but super fun! I got some really pretty shades. I'm breaking the haul into 4 parts because I don't wanna get too photo heavy here. So the first part is the random Sally Hansen polishes that I got (odds and ends, get it?!). I bought all of these at big lots for a dollar a piece! I love big lots, they always have great deals on nail polish! So here are the polishes!

Sally Hansen Blue It:

Blue It is a bright shimmery blue! It is very pretty! I don't have anything like it but I have seen a few dupes at the store. It has a great formula if you use light strokes. It is almost a one coater, but not quite. Here is two coats without top coat.

Sally Hansen Green With Envy:

Green With Envy is a bright lime color. It is basically an exact dupe of Pure Ice's Wild Thing. The formula was good but a little thick, so use thin coats. Here is two thin coats!

Sally Hansen Grape Going:

Grape Going is a purple polish with very bright blue shimmer! I love this one! The shimmer is very pretty and I love this color combo! The formula is good too. The one problem I have with it is the brush. I hate the Insta-Dry brushes. They are way too big and put on way too much paint. But other than the brush (which I can overlook) I love this one. Here is two coats!

Sally Hansen Rock Candy:

Rock Candy is a clear base with lots of different color glitters. This one is very very subtle. Almost to subtle. I kind of wish it had more glitter in it. But that is my only problem with it! Here is two coats over all of the above polishes.

Overall I like these polishes. My favorite is Grape Going! and my least favorite is Rock Candy. All of Sally Hansen's polishes are thick so it is best to use thin coats when applying.

Prices:
Xtreme Wear: $3.00
Hard as Nails: $2.00
Insta-Dry: $3.00
*Prices depend on where you go, these are just estimates*

So what do you think? Which ones are you favorites? Let me know in the comments! I might have another post up today with part 2!
